In an increasingly tense economic market, companies must constantly find effective ways to remain competitive. R&D Technology supports all sectors of activity by offering innovative solutions to industrialise new products or existing processes.
Invited on the set of the programme Itinéraire Entreprise, Jean-Luc ROSER, Marketing and Sales Director, presents the history, the product range and the vision of the R&D Technology Group.
R&D Technology was born out of the desire of a pair of brothers to create a common project. In 1996, Jean-Luc, Marc and Philippe Roser decided to found a company that would bring together their values and their common vision of the industry.
The small structure has now become large with 80 engineers and technicians spread over two sites: Saverne and Lyon.
More than a simple will to develop a family business, the initial objective was to find solutions facilitating the implementation of innovative projects for industrial actors. R&D Technology addresses specific needs that standards fail to meet.
The company offers means for industrialising new products using customised production equipment, or for optimising processes already in place. The group’s activity is based on three distinct divisions:
R&D Technology applies its expertise to a wide range of sectors : automotive, mechanical and electromechanical engineering, food processing, plus the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
The range of services is designed to bring together several areas of expertise.
R&D Technology strengthens its business expertise by offering industrialisation consulting services. Customers can be audited in their own production facilities or be guided in the drafting of their scope statement. A network of qualified partners is also available to handle additional requirements.
Although the group has opted for customisation, recurring needs have been identified. The design of a specific assembly cell emerged from this observation. Its principle is the ability to use the same machine for different types of products, with a record time of production changeover. A freely configurable turntable allows for great flexibility and a large number of operations : assembly, marking, small machining, control and packaging.
The strength of EvoluBox lies in its adaptability to all situations. As a real shared work tool, the machine works in semi-automatic or fully automatic mode, depending on the needs. It is important to realise that with traditional manual equipment, the cumulative costs prevent this solution from being interesting in the medium to long term. Similarly, full automation reduces these same costs but increases the initial investment considerably. EvoluBox takes these issues in its stride by reducing the time to return on investment.
R&D Technology is constantly growing and strengthening its expertise to adapt to market fluctuations and the evolving needs of industrial players. In recent years, the group has achieved a high level of expertise in the medical field. Thanks to EvoluBox, the group has the opportunity to capitalise on this sector in constant demand. To support this development, R&D Technology and its partners have created a group of companies capable of designing, manufacturing and assembling innovative medical devices.
But the group’s priority remains to pursue its ability to innovate with its customers in the field of Industry 4.0. Strengthening the national industrial network, in particular with solutions allowing the relocation of production, is fully in line with the group’s DNA, devoutly cultivating excellence, ethics and customer commitment.
