Design is my passion.
I arrived in September 2020 as a senior Mechanical Engineer.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CURRENT POSITION AT R&D?
Responsible for the mechanical design of special machines, this task starts at the beginning of a project with the study of the scope statement, then the entire mechanical development of the functions (with dimensioning, calculations, consideration of manufacturing procedures and materials) up to the presentation to other departments.
Once the development has been approved, we create a bill of materials for the machine, then draw up the plans and place the orders with the suppliers. When the machine is in the assembly phase, I provide support to the workshop for the commissioning. At this stage, we may still be asked for small improvements or modifications until final acceptance.
Our last step is participation in different documents such as the user and maintenance manual for the machine.
WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVATIONS FOR WORKING AT R&D?
After 15 years of experience in the design of industrial products and machines, R&D Technology allows me to continue to grow in this field.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE WORK ATMOSPHERE AT R&D?
R&D Technology is a serious company in constant research of improvement, animated by a strong team spirit and mutual assistance.
HOW DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF R&D?
A company in full expansion mode and strongly linked to local industry, R&D has an advantage thanks to its strong focus on the medical field, a constantly evolving field.
WHAT IS FOR YOU THE MAIN ARGUMENT TO JOIN R&D TECHNOLOGY?
It’s a young, dynamic company with great values and a very pleasant human dimension. The management is available for its employees and is still largely a family affair. The building and the living environment in the beautiful region of Saverne are exceptional for working in good conditions.
Some employees tell us about the R&D adventure and their evolution.
