ARRIVAL
I joined R&D Technology in May 2018 as Quality Manager. I’m currently still in this position.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CURRENT POSITION AT R&D?
I joined the company as Quality Manager. This is a very cross-functional role l and I work with all departments in the company. My role is to focus our management system towards customer satisfaction and efficiency. I make sure that customer requirements are taken into account from the sales phase to after-sales service. To achieve this, my work consists of “capturing” good practices and disseminating them internally, setting up processes and standards, improving existing ones and finally managing the documentation system. I am also the quality contact person for our suppliers and customers.
All this work is done within the framework of the ISO 9001 standard.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE EVOLUTION OF R&D OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS?
I decided to join the R&D Technology adventure a few years ago because this company was facing many challenges. But R&D Technology has experienced strong growth over the past few years and has been able to adapt quickly. Today, the company is in the process of turning a corner with real challenges for a position like mine. This rapid growth, in terms of activity, workforce and results, naturally leads to organisational changes. Our goal is to manage these changes through the creation of a management system that will enable R&D Technology to improve its overall performance and provide a solid foundation for embarking with confidence on the ambitious projects that lie ahead.
WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVATIONS FOR WORKING AT R&D?
I like many things about working at R&D Technology. But if I were to pick just a few, the first would be the constant evolution of the company. This brings future prospects with challenges and new subjects to work on. It’s very stimulating!
The second is specific to my job. It’s the diversity of tasks, assignments and interlocutors. I work with all the departments of the company, but also with our customers and suppliers, and on very varied subjects. The guaranteed to avoid monotony and not be bored.
The third is the balance I manage to find between my professional and personal life. This is very important and R&D Technology allows real flexibility in the organisation of my work.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE WORK ATMOSPHERE AT R&D?
If I had to describe the atmosphere within R&D in three words, it would be: team spirit, enthusiasm and conviviality. A recipe for achieving our (ambitious) goals AND being happy at work.
HOW DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF R&D?
The company has acquired real know-how in the design of innovative machines and in guidance and advice for its customers. This know-how allows us to detect and respond to complex projects that can lead to large markets (small and medium series). This strategy has already paid off and several such projects are underway.
WHAT IS FOR YOU THE MAIN ARGUMENT TO JOIN R&D TECHNOLOGY?
If I were to recommend someone to come work for R&D, I would simply ask: Do you want a challenging job in a great environment with nice teams? If so, then join us!
Some employees tell us about the R&D adventure and their evolution.
